Friendship Star Block - Free Class

Come and celebrate friendship and quilting by learning to make the friendship star block.  This class is free and is great for beginners.  Grab a friend and take this class.

Debra Crain, our guest teacher and friend, teaches one of her favorite quilting methods known as the nickel sandwich.  This class teaches three different quilting techniques to make the friendship star block.  The friendship star block is a nine patch block using half square triangles to make the star.  The nickel sandwich is a raw edge quilting technique that uses a 5" square of batting sandwiched between two 6" squares of fabric that are quilted together.  The quilted squares are pieced together to complete the block.

Free kits with fabric and pattern will be provided for the class.

All the blocks made in class will go into a donation quilt.  The donated quilt will carry the legacy of friendship and quilting to someone
special.  Students get to keep the pattern to make future friendship blocks.

This class is open to adults and children 8 years and older.  Children (8+) must be accompanied by an adult.

Each class has a maximum of 6 students each.  Sign up soon to secure your seat for this fun event!
