The basic patchwork quilt class is perfect for the first time quilt maker or as a refresher if it has been a minute to 25 years since your last quilt. The class will take you through the three stages of the quilting process to make your own unique quilt. In three lessons you will learn step by step how to piece, quilt, and bind your small quilt, approximately 36" x 42".
Lesson One: Making the Quilt Top. We will cover fabric selection, how to use a rotary cutter and ruler, cutting, layout, piecing, stitching ¼” seam allowances, pressing and construction of the quilt top.
Lesson Two: Quilting. We will learn how to making a quilt "sandwich" of the quilt top, batting and backing; how to baste and begin the quilting process.
Lesson Three: The Big Finish! It's time to trim the quilt, make and attach the binding to finish it.
